The objectives of People's Education society are explicitly stated in the following words.
"The Peoples Education Society's objectives are not merely to give education but to give education in such a manner as to promote intellectual, moral and social democracy.
That is what India needs and this is what well wishers of India must promote".
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar belived that education not only provides powerful intellectual weapon which can be used in the perpetual struggle for establishing a just society, but it also helps under privileged people to liberate themselves from mental slavery which is of the worst type.
The first graduate college that was started in Marathwada was Milind Mahavidyalaya, started at Aurangabad in 1950, and there was no other college here then expects Govt.
The society had chosen Aurangabad to start a college for some concrete reasons. This region has denied education for years. Aurangabad was a place of great culture movements in Maharashtra.
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar felt that education is an elixir to liberate people the age old slavery, which become the mission of his life.
With this belief he established People's Education society in Mumbai on July 8th, 1945 having a network of numerous educational institutions of higher education in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Bihar.
